FIELD ROADS IN COKOT

In support of achieving the activities of farmers in municipality of Palilula, president of municipality Boban Dzunic, and the Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Sasa Stojiljkovic, visited the village Čokot.

In this settlement, some of the final activities are the construction of the planned sections of field roads in length of 900m and to move three elm (450m) in the direction of the South Morava River (450m).

Thanks to the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the City of Nis, 6.34 km of field roads were done in settlements in Palilula. The investment in the municipality of Palilula, which upon completion of the tender was launched late last year,  was at 4.5 million. Approved funds, said Sasa Stoiljković, head of the agriculture and rural development, are used in mechanical excavation of soil; Planning and rolling placenta; leveling the substrate; filling in a layer of hilly gravel ( aggregate ) 15 cm thick; spreading gravel, rolling and tamping the road.

According to the President of the Council of Citizens in Cokot, Miroljub Ristic, this investment except to facilitate the processing of agricultural land and encourage the residents of Cokot to increase crops under greenhouses on the move. He emphasized the good cooperation with the president of Municipality and thanked the municipal government for the support.

The total acreage of Palilula is 7.4 hectares. Of these 6.6 hectares are arable land and 747 pastures. "Strategic Development Plan", in the words of the municipal president Boban Džunić, as a the primary task features a revival of activity in the villages from which the future is expected to be the basis of sustainable development of the municipality. In Palilula there are 15 villages that rely on narrow city area. Maintenance and development of field roads is of particular importance for the development and improvement of land to make.
